1st day of school 2014

Our first day of school was a smashing success! Elijah started kindergarten,  and Eva started preschool. The babies napped, Elijah worked and Eva colored, staying with us the entire time! Elijah is so ready to read, and if Eva keeps staying with us, she'll probably be reading by the end of the year, too! :)

After school work we had an ice cube relay race and an ice cube melting contest, experimenting with using warm water and salt. The kids loved it! We then met up with another homeschooling family for a recess park date.

As a teacher, I am loving teaching my children, especially teaching Elijah to read. I was impressed by some of his strengths today. We were working on handwriting, and the letter E, when Eva wanted to write it, too. Elijah drew it for her, upside down, "So that it would look right for her." Great spacial orientation and visualization skills, just like David!

It takes a little creativity and flexibility to keep twins happy! :)

Peter and Joseph are four months old!!

Peter and Joseph are 4 months old and the happiest little babies you'll ever meet. They are great little eaters and sleepers. They sleep the entire night! We are talking 9pm til 7am. Going on 2 weeks now! We can hardly believe it either. They love their swings, and watching their big brother and sister. They like to cuddle, smile a lot, and laugh. They sleep better when the other is in the room with them, and seem to comfort each other. Such little blessings!

Oma and Poppi

Mom and Dad came to visit for the week while David traveled to the Small Satellite conference. We had such a good visit with them, and they were such a blessing as I got a wretched cough (of course! David was traveling!) They, along with Elijah and Eva, took on pruning and mulching our back garden, making it beautiful!! It needed some attention, and our team of out of town landscapers were fabulous!

Of course, they made time to cuddle with the grandkids, and babysat so David and I could go on a date to celebrate our 12th anniversary!!
