Uncle Matt was in town and we went to the zoo. Got to visit the baby chimpanzee twins, ride the train, see the giraffes... We love going to that zoo, and we love Uncle Matt!!

He has Risen!
Happy Easter! He has risen... He has risen indeed!
This morning we celebrated the empty tomb. On Saturday Jamie had made a craft with the kids where they "buried" Jesus in a tomb and when they woke up this morning Jesus was out of the tomb and the rock rolled away. Jamie made the observation how Eva related to role playing nature of the craft then when we have read the Easter story from the Bible.
This morning we had an awesome Easter service at church with Eli's good friend Merek getting baptized. What great symbolism getting baptized on Easter Sunday. We also had a great sermon and sang some great Easter songs.
After church we came home had another Easter egg hunt at our house. Though not as cool as the wilderness hunt of yesterday the kids still had a great time looking for eggs. We tried to get a kids shot before the hunt, but it turns out the four kids were pretty excited.
Eli had all the blue and green eggs to find and Eva had all of the purple and pink ones to find.
The little brothers loved hanging out and watching big brother and big sister look for eggs. They would try and sneak a rock when mom wasn't looking.

Easter Egg Hunt
We were invited to an Easter Egg Hunt at the home of our friends Erik and Erin who live up near the Sandia Mountains. It was also great to meet a new couple Adam and Janai and their four kids who were also invited. Erik and Erin had hid over 60 Easter eggs with puzzle pieces in them out back of their house in the "wilderness" (as Eli called it). The kids had to find the eggs and then put the puzzle together in order to get their bag of candy. It was a great idea and helped inspire the kids to work together as opposed to try and find as many eggs for themselves.

(Below) After placing all of the pieces of the puzzle they had found we realized that we were missing one piece. The troops all went out looking for that one missing egg. Thankfully one of the kids found it and we were able to finish the puzzle (and get the chocolate)!
It was a wonderful time hanging out, eating some great breakfast burritos, and celebrating our risen savior!
