Tea party and manicures

Eva enjoyed a "girls" play date with her friend Ginny today. The girls loved setting up a nail salon with willing little brothers as customers! They also set up a tea party, in costume.

Bedtime song

David and I have a bedtime routine with Peter and Joseph. After they are cozy and changed, we each hold one of them in their darkened room, and we sway with them singing "Jesus Loves Me" together. The little boys hold their blankets, and sweetly rest their heads on our shoulders. Sometimes they make singing sounds along with us, and sometimes they interrupt us to point out "Boat! Water!" in the framed pictures in their nautical - themed bedroom. We finish the song, then lay them in their beds.
Lately, Eva or Elijah will peek in to listen, and the last few days, they've come in to sing along. Added cuteness, Elijah picked up Eva and held her as we all sang together, just like David and I held Peter and Joseph. The little boys kept giggling to see Elijah holding Eva, but the sweetness of the moment was all of us singing "Jesus Loves Me" together in the little boys' room before bed. Moments I want to remember.

Visit to the Ottens

We had a wonderful visit with dad and mom our recent trip to the Midwest and love being able to see Jeremy and Christy as well!

The kids enjoyed the grass and playing outside among the green.

We were able to meet Jeremy and Christy at a state park. It was a wonderful time of hanging out, hiking through some beautiful forests, and seeing a waterfall.

Happy Father's Day

We went for a hike this morning before church with our good friends Jason and Katie. It's hot here in ABQ so stopped by Starbucks to cool off before church.

Test blog

This is a test blog.

Trying out a new app.

Escaping the heat

It's over 100 degrees in ABQ since escaped the heat and drove to one of our favorite places in the Jemez mountains for some green and some water.

We found a nice little private spot off of the trail for the kids to play in the creek.

Eli and Eva loved looking for fish.

The river was in the shadow of the famous Battleship Rock.

It was a great day and a beautiful drive.

VBS

Elijah and Eva are at Vacation Bible School this week and loving it! Peter and Joseph are feeling a little lost without their siblings, but did rather enjoy being the center of attention at the brunch they got to go to with me.

Fairytale Ballet

Eva had her 1st dance lesson tonight! She was so excited, and so shy. It was adorable. Peter, Joseph and I peeked at her through the window of the studio. They kept whispering "Sissy!" and she kept sneaking waves back to us.

Her class is called "Fairytale Ballet." They start with a read aloud of a fairytale, then learn some dance moves related to the story, put on princess costumes, then put it to music. It is a perfect introduction to dance for her, and she really enjoyed it, but was shy about it. Sweet girl.

Today was The Little Mermaid.

Pillow cases

When you and your twin want the same train pillow case, but also the tractor one, and your Mama just wants you to stop crying and nap... She pulls out her scissors and sewing machine and now you can choose which side you want, trains or tractors. The troubles of twins. Everything must be the same!

P.S. David just went in to get the boys after nap and Joseph was sitting up in bed flipping his pillow over and over saying "choo-choo... Gaga (tractor)... choo-choo... gaga...

Run & Ride

Day 2 of what we're calling "Run & Ride!" These kids rise with the sun and would be splashing in the kiddie pool at 6:30am (our poor neighbors!) This is the "be kind to our neighbors" initiative to take advantage of the cool mornings and get some energy out. Not the greatest workout I've ever had but so much fun!
