Hike with dad and Aaron

This past week I was able to go to the USU SmallSat Conference with dad and Aaron. It was so much fun to hang out at night, get some meals together, and see each other around the conference. One of the nights we went for a hike in Logan Canyon. It was beautiful and we were able to hike out as the sun was setting. Overall it was a fun week.

The trail we were on started in the bottom of the canyon and hiked 900 vertical feet and almost 2 miles.

A great panorama shot with Aaron and the trail.

The final destination was the wind tunnel.

We caught a beautiful sunset on our way back down. On our way back to the hotel room we stopped at an old fashioned ice cream bar for some mint chocolate chip and waffle cones.

Who needs to walk when you're such a good crawler?

Though they have taken a few steps, J+P prefer to crawl. They have it pretty well perfected. They are super-speedy, and carry things in their mouths as they go.

Peter and Joseph Walk

I was sitting upstairs in the rocker when out of the blue Peter lets go of the futon he was holding and takes four steps over to the rocker!! I yelled for Jamie who rushed upstairs and low and behold he did it again. We then tried Joseph who walk several steps as well. Well done little guys!!

Elias' Train Party

Our little buddy Elias had his 2nd birthday party at the zoo today, and we rode the zoo train!

Grandma's in town! J+P's 1st ice cream cones

Grandma's in town, and she did a good job of spoiling us at Freddy's!  Joseph and Peter got their first ice cream cones, and Elijah and Eva got chocolate ice cream with gummy worms, something Elijah had seen and wanted to try. Eva liked slurping her gummy worms to make them wiggle. Peter and Joseph were chortling over their cones, shoving the ice cream in their faces and insisting on "sharing" with me. Peter would offer his cone, and Joseph would want to, too... "Mmmm!! Mmmm!!" He would say.

Eva's style

Pool floaties, the ultimate accessory. Sure to turn heads and spark conversation,  particularly when worn to the park or grocery. Paired with an owl backpack, you are set for any occasion.
Always maximize the sparkle in your life. Two different shoes means two different opportunities for sparkle and shine. A Frozen lunch box is always an appropriate handbag.

I see my little Eva and the song from Annie runs through my head: "Who cares what their wearing on Main Street or Saville Row, it's what you wear from ear to ear, and not from head to toe... You're never fully dressed without a smile!" I love her expressive fashion. :)

P.S. One of Daddy's old socks makes a fabulous statement when paired with Crocs.

Midwest Roadtrip 2015: the Otten edition

We had our third trip back the Midwest to see the Ottens and go to the Jennings family reunion. Although the drive up was rather rough (the littlest two cried most of the way) it was great to finally get there and have some quality time with the family.

It was great we got to see Jeremy and Christy for a few days and baby Kai. He was getting ready for his big surgery so we had to keep our distance so as not to potentially infect him, but it was great to see them.

We also were able to see Jamie's high school friend and her family. They have a girl and identical twin boys as well!

In between the conversations and coffee we had some time for hanging in the hammock while the babies loved playing in the couple inches of water in the pool.

One of the afternoons the ladies went shopping so the boys ran an errand to get some coffee. Of course we had to stop at Emo's and get some lunch.

"Your mother has it, your poppi has it, and yes you have it my son." That is the Otten sweet tooth.

YaYa flew down a few days early for a visit prior to driving up to the Jenning's reunion. She was doing her duty of teaching the kids how to play dominoes.
