Sitting here, covered in babies and full of emotions, thinking of how we made 6 months. Happy half-birthday Joseph and Peter!
Poor Joseph has a fever, but it didn't stop him from smiling tonight. His sweet good nature rises to the top. Thinking back to him being on oxygen, covered in monitors, and looking so frail... I checked his breathing so many times! I am so thankful that he is bigger now, and even though he doesn't feel well at the moment, we made it past the tiny newborn frailty.
Peter was cooing happily tonight. He smiles easily when others smile at him, especially big brother Elijah! Tonight he looked over at Joseph and cackled the cutest laugh. His eyes hold so much expression and humor now.
I have to say, reaching 6 months is a bit of a relief... not that I never thought we'd make it... more that we feel so much more settled. We know Peter and Joseph better. Their personalities are starting to be more expressed. They know us. We feel like a family.
