School Supplies

When I was boy my family would ride the train at the start of the school year to get school supplies. We continued this tradition with our family as I took Elijah and Eva on the Rail Runner from ABQ to Santa Fe.

The kids were so excited to ride the train! Jamie drove up with the Peter and Joseph, but waited till we took off before leaving. Elijah and Eva waived at P+J as we left.

It was a beautiful ride up and a good time talking with Elijah and Eva.

The train ends at the farmers market in Santa Fe where we caught up with Jamie and P+J. It was a lot of fun walking through the market, hearing the bands and sampling some delicacies from the bakery.

Zoo and Cinderella

An amazing day at the Rio Grande Zoo... a spin on the carousel and hand-feeding giraffes!

She loved dancing to Cinderella at the last Fairytale Ballet. Daddy came to watch, and we took the little ballerinas out to Chick Fil A to celebrate. The girls (Ginny, Kennedy and Eva) sat at their own table and giggled, still in their tutus, and the boys (Merek and Elijah) thought it would be fun to have Peter and Joseph join them at a boys table. Ha!

Gone Camping

A quick camping trip to Santa Fe. We did it the easy way, going into town for pizza at Upper Crust for dinner. Best pizza in New Mexico! I got to have an hour to read in the hammock while David brought the kids to throw rocks in the river! Highlights for the kids were roasting marshmallows and exploring the campsite. David got to use his new JetBoil stove (love gadgets!) and we enjoyed the near instant cups of tea he made for us. The kids discovered the pleasure of a hot cup of tea by the fire! Not too surprisingly, we didn't get much sleep, as our two toddlers didn't do so well sleeping in the tent. We kept it to one night. :)

Butterflies and flowers

A trip to the botanical gardens to see the butterfly pavilion. It was beautiful as ever with the green and shade.
